This reminds me of Michael Giacchino. I think mostly because it follows a chord progression similar to some of the new Star Trek Music. Really love it. Premium Quality Work.

Reminds me of Horror "B" Movies. Nostalgia for the win. (Puppet Master would be an appropriate reference at this point)

Wasn't too fond of the ending. I don't mind the way it leads to the ending but it feels like you just put in whatever you could at the end to finish it. I loved the rest of it though. Also, the title is very clever.

cantinera responds:

I need to work on my endings lol. I kinda of just want to make loops. :D

This is great. Well done. My dad used to play this on the cassette player in his Lada Samara (A poor excuse for a car). I fondly remember cleaning it outside on a hot Summer day with the doors open and his speakers blasting "I am the Walrus". I'd sing it all the time... When I was in grade 2/3 in a catholic school. Thanks for the updated memory.

SymbolCymbal responds:

i know this respinse is extremely late but... i very happy i could bring you back to a great memory. Thank you

I honestly did not like the beginning of the song but when it hit around 1:30, with the instrument changes; Then I really started to appreciate it. Certainly a nice piece, good luck in the second round!

I think I have maybe 41 seconds of mine done. This is awesome, Good job.!

Hurks responds:

Thanks man! Cant wait to hear yours :)

The song ends rather abruptly. If this was intended to be a loop you should have set it as a loop, which it seems to loop just fine. The beat is very generic but works to your song. I found the.. "grinding hollow tube" noise a little annoying though. I think you should have been a little more creative with the guitar track, I liked the two repeating appregios, but a little more substance would have been nice, that or another track that had a melody to it.

How I usually look at loops is how long I can listen to it before I get bored. Writing the review up to this point has become a matter of tolerating it, Not usually a good sign. But there is definitely potential. I read on your page that you are new to this, so don't be discouraged! Keep trying, work hard on your music, and you will see improvements and success in your work.

All the best,

Winston

I also happen to Mongolian throat sing for fun. You did an awesome job. How I wish I had the same samples you do and evidently good recording equipment. This was a great song, my only issue was the blunt ending but it didn't take away from how much I enjoyed it. Great work!

ZipZipper responds:

REALLY?! I catch your pieces from time to time and never heard one where throat singing was utilized! You have to tell me which one it is or make one where you do!

Love the harpsichord with that rolling chord. A very regal sound to it and a lot of power. I could easily see this song describing a "Virtuous gentleman" with some kind of hidden agenda or certain purpose. I think the first reviewer was caught off guard by the 5/4. You usually expect 4/4 so the "anticipated beat" is the 5th beat.

Excellent work!

Makes me think of one of those creepy/loving 4/8-bit stylized story telling games you see around. Perfect.

I compose music as a hobby and I study math and science. My aspiration musically is to make an orchestral score for a video game, my scholarly aspirations are to develop effective models/algorithms. I am also fond of the wristwatch. Feel free to PM.
