I definitely hear the Steven Universe in this.

Well done.

trixelbit responds:

Thank you for the kind words!

Love your music.

Only minor complaint is an increase in the quality of the sound engineering. Could be a smidgen better, if it were this song would be perfect.

The percussion sounds a little sloppy at times but I think it's only due to the quality of your VST. Otherwise I really enjoyed the percussion to this piece, very well put together. Very "video-game-esque."

Well done.

Aisnon-A responds:

I agree. The quality and arrangement of the percussion track is completely due to my mastering and equalizing skills, which are evidently mediocre, if not, sub-par. In any case, the affirmation builds a basis for me, and improving is personal value.

Your review and time is appreciated. Thank you for listening. The feedback will help me for future projects.

Really liked the tempo and the swing. Reminded me of Taco's version of Puttin' on the Ritz. Awesome job Zipper.

Pretty Funk.

This has some nice crunch in it. I dig. Some of the instruments, I don't know what it is, but I get a weird nostalgic RPG feel. At any rate, great work.

Pandasticality responds:

im glad you like it n__n i worked hard on it, hmm i've gotten the RPG mention in a few reviews, i wonder if i should try making RPG-ish Dubstep next, thats something i haven't tried yet.

I adore this song. My only criticism is that you should either enunciate your words better for the melody. That or lower the volume of the harmony slightly and then this song will sound even more awesome. If I were to end the song I'd fade out of the harmony. That might sound better than a cut off. Well done.

Salut mon collègue Canadien! You have an interesting sound. It is reminiscent of some of the music that was being produced during the Vietnam War. Keep it up!

DonStracci responds:

Thank you sir for the review and to put your trust in me with your scouting proposal! I appreciate it

This sounds quite alright for someone who is new to songs. It makes me think of a sky world; Somewhere higher up. My criticisms would be that it is a little short, but it could be easily looped, so this is fine. There isn't really a definite melody to the song. If you were going for something a little more ambient - something to create atmosphere - then you got that right, but as a singular song it doesn't hold up, it needs a bit more substance. Still, a great job for a new composer, keep up the hard work and you'll improve in no time!

Thank you ! :D

I like that you are trying to modulate. Although in my opinion it's better when you can kind of sneak it in rather than be hugely obvious about it. I think you've done both in this song. Although I get it that in electronic it's part of the whole climax thing etc. I found your lead instrument gets very annoying after a while, like ear splitting annoying, I may be biased though because I am hungover writing this. You've got a decent drum line for your song but the VST sounds a little light and dry. I think that this is, in my mind, more of a rough draft to what could be a pretty great song. It needs a bit of cleaning up and once you do, it will be awesome. Keep it up!

I compose music as a hobby and I study math and science. My aspiration musically is to make an orchestral score for a video game, my scholarly aspirations are to develop effective models/algorithms. I am also fond of the wristwatch. Feel free to PM.
